Salad Cress - Ingle Dawndew - Lancashire
Established over a century ago Ingle’s Dawndew Salad is a family business spanning five generations. The Ingle family take great pride in producing the freshest, finest quality salad cress, pea shoots, and bean sprouts, for Pauleys customers across the UK.
From a small rented field in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire in 1907, Dawndew Salad has grown to become one of the UK’s leading specialist salad cress growers.
In 1990 the company moved to its current premises in Poulton-le-Fylde. It designed and built a state of the art production facility – ensuring the best product and price for their customers.
Investment in automated cress cutting, salad washing and a ‘High Risk Packing Area’ in recent years allows the company to sell peat free cress – supplied to Pauleys.
A family tradition of quality and modernity continues today with a fifth generation of Ingles at the helm. Raymond Ingle, Managing Director with over 40 years of growing experience, James Ingle, Operations Director, and Trudie Webster, Commercial and Technical Director continue the family tradition of superb salad, following in the footsteps of Great Great Grandfather Thomas.
To achieve the best quality and availability of produce, we may sometimes need to source produce from growers other than those mentioned. In the event of British produce not being available or not meeting the required specification, we will source from an alternative origin to match our high quality standards.
