When British consumers were asked what assurances they really wanted to see on food labelling, they asked for a definitive, easy-to-spot symbol that ensured food had been farmed and produced to independently inspected standards in Britain – and so in response the Red Tractor scheme was born.
Trust
The Red Tractor logo has become the trusted symbol of responsibly produced British food. It represents the Assured Food Standards scheme, an independent body that ensures food is produced to high standards from farm to pack.
The logo appears on more than £7.5 billion worth of UK food, making Red Tractor a clear and easy way to show your customers where their food has come from and the quality of the product.
Becoming a Red Tractor licensee is a great way of reassuring your customers about the food they are eating in your business.
So what does it mean?
Red Tractor is a managed food assurance scheme which covers production standards developed by experts on food safety and hygiene, animal welfare and environmental protection. All suppliers in the Red Tractor food chain are inspected and certified by an independent professional body.
Pauleys supplies an extensive range of Red Tractor assured products, click here to see Red Tractor products available from Pauleys and the dates they are available.
David Clarke, chief executive of Assured Food Standards, which runs the Red Tractor scheme, commented:
“We are delighted by Pauley’s commitment to sourcing Red Tractor certified fresh produce, representing their high standards of quality, food safety and traceability. This initiative provides a great opportunity to communicate an extremely positive message to customers, which we are only too pleased to support."
